Paris+Eurostar+You+Cash
You like baguettes, cigarettes, wine, fashion, art (oui madame!) - go to Paris.
You like travelling by train but have never experienced Eurostar (oui monsieur!) - go to Paris.
You like doing/making dance, but don't have the cash for it (oui oui oui!) - then go to Paris and get it from Boris Charmatz (among others). It's a competition, it's called Danse Élargie, you can win a maximum of 10.000 Euros, it's in Théâtre de la Ville, it's practically open to anyone with a good idea for a dance, and it goes something like this:
To open doors to today's and tomorrow's artistic creation is the goal of Danse Élargie, a project born through a partnership between Musée de la danse/Centre choréographique national de Rennes et de Bretagne and Théâtre de la Ville in Paris.
Discussions between Boris Charmatz, choreographer and Director of the Musée de la danse and Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota, stage director and Director of Théâtre de la Ville, have led them to conceive an expanded contest, also designed to be an artistic adventure.
Danse Élargie is open to any kind of dance, understood in its broadest definition, to artists from all generations or nationalities, regardless of their original art form (visual arts, theatre, dance, music). The attached call for project illustrates the spirit of the event.
