Reposition yourself
Saturday May 8th 3.30-6.30pm Arts for Human Rights is launching the festival disPLACEment, a week-long festival in South East London, which uses the arts, cinema, performance, and music to tell stories, inspire action, and cross the boundaries that just have to be crossed. There'll be free events every night, plus an international music night Saturday 15th 8pm-1am (£3/£5) to finish off the festival with a melodious bang, so go on - support art for a good cause.
disPLACEment highlights cases of misplaced identities. From the movement patterns of migrants to involuntary journeys, Arts 4 Human Rights' inaugural festival raises questions found in those displaced.
Human trafficking, seeking asylum, artificial notions of equal opportunities and more shall be addressed through visual arts, spoken word, dance, film and talks.
In venues such as Nolia's Gallery, Art's Bar, and other locations in Camberwell, disPLACEment will feature works by Clinton De Menezes, Anna Jordan, Katherina Radeva, Inua Ellam and more.
