Theme Time! Gay Stuff
After the Brighton Pride weekend I felt an appropriately themed Theme Time was in order. Some choice homosexual delights for your delectation:
Stephan Elliot - Priscilla Queen of the Desert
If I was rich I'd be down Shaftesbury Ave watching this show! But I am not. So I get out the old VHS for a bit of Priscilla fabulousness. Guy Pearce - gotta love him. Hugo Weaving - love him.
Andy Warhol 'The Philosophy of Andy Warhol'
A rather entertaining read.
Guy Pearce (cross-connections here) played Warhol in 'Factory Girl'.
Oscar Wilde

Oh, wait a minute, that's Stephen Fry. He's good too.

There you are. (Did anyone watch that rather dubious-looking film adaptation of the Picture of Dorian Gray released last year?)
Morrissey

Speaking of Oscar Wilde, Morrissey's got Wilde on his side and so he wins.
The Smiths 'Hand in Glove'
Virginia Woolf 'Orlando'
Gender-shifting age-defying charmer Orlando is the protagonist of Woolf's (rather long) love letter to Vita Sackville-West.
John Cameron Mitchell 'Shortbus'
This film never fails to make me all warm and fuzzy inside.
Also featuring cameo from JD Samson of Le Tigre fame (cross-connections):
Le Tigre

For the ladies and the fags, yeah, they're the band with the rollerskate jams. Co-ordinated outfits, cute dance routines, music with a positive message and a badass beat. How I wish they were still making fab tunes. Check out the 'Deceptacon' video for some badass moves and the Le Tigre blog for info on upcoming projects and good stuff.
They also want you to make your own videos to their songs and have them posted on their blog as part of their karaoke contest. Anyone want to join me..?
MEN

Yay for MEN, JD Samson's new band.
Peaches

She doesn't give a fuck. And she puts on a bloody good show. Peaches, marry me.
Michael Clark and Stephen Petronio 'Wrong'

Bald gay men of the dance world, I rate you sometimes. Okay, maybe a bit more than sometimes.

Petronio by Leibovitz. More cross-connections:
Annie Liebovitz
With Baryshnikov in self-portrait for Louis Vuitton ad campaign.
Evan Rachel Wood as lesbian queen of the vampires in 'True Blood'

Alright Evan, you've won me over.
