Time for Church
From Morning brings the work of five dance artists to Hawksmoor's Christ Church Spitalfields on 27 May 'from morning' till evening (9am, 1pm and 7.30pm). Performances curated by Florence Peake with Lisa-Raine Hunt will take place in unusual places and spaces. And there will be lots of improvisation. A bit Judson-like I'd say. Now that's a spirit we like!
Tickets range from £5-15.
Works by Katye Coe, Joe Moran, Florence Peake and Sally Dean, and Nikki Tomlinson with Hannah Marshall, will inhabit distinct spaces in the church, finding new resonances with its architecture. You are invited to a journey around this beautifully restored building and to experience performances and installations in the intimate crypt and the vast nave.
