Like to trip?

admin @ 9:57 pm

Almost every month there is a night full of dance and theatre improvisation, rough-cuts and short-pieces happening. It’s called: Trip The Light Fantastic Toe, and it’s all very unpredictable and funny. The event takes place at The Others: a warehouse in Stoke Newington (with comfortable furniture and a bar) – but it’s not hard to find and very close to Stoke Newington Station. It usually starts 9ish and finishes when there are no more partying people (I think), because after the performances there is always a party and DJ line-up waiting to make everyone trip the light fantastically.

If you haven’t already, check out Trip The Light Fantastic Toe on MySpace to find out when the next one is happening.

You won’t be disappointed – especially not if you’re lucky enough to witness an improvised solo by Seke Chimutengwende, a true genius when it comes to improvisation. The video above features him performing at Chisenhale Dance Space in 2008.
