You gotta go to ImPulsTanz

Davis Freeman

Soon it’s summer time and so you got to go to ImPulsTanz, Vienna International Dance Festival. You just gotta! The programme looks really great this year.

Some things will without a doubt be quite popular, like Xavier Le Roy and Mårten Spångberg who will be doing some coaching, Davis Freeman who will be recreating his work To Shy to Stare (you could be in it! – audition 18 July), and Meg Stuart who will be teaching some improvisation, guiding participants through a selection of exercises, which she describes in her new book
Are we here yet? So if you haven’t already, go book your place before it’s gone. And while you’re at it, take a look at the impressive line-up of performances. And the book presentations too!

The workshops are taught by the more or less usual crew, plus a few new exiting names of course, however, I didn’t see David Zambrano’s obligatory ‘Flying Low’ anywhere on the schedule, so no throwing yourself up and down and into the ground. And then again, Rasmus Ölme’s ‘Horizontal Fall’ might take care of that.
