Tate celebrating Ten

This weekend Tate Modern are celebrating their 10th birthday hosting a free festival bringing 70 of the world’s (cutting edge, they say) independent art organizations together.

Dress Up Turn Up

Art Party

Transient Constellations presents: Psychedelic Art Party. Free but donations welcomed. Noise from Cementimental and other absurd acts!

Shunt Take it Back

Shunt sure had me fooled. Like an everything-must-go-only-a-pound-cause-we-are-closing-down-we-promise-(we’re-not-really-closing)-banner.

Reposition yourself

disPLACEment

The festival, disPLACEment, highlights cases of misplaced identities. The festival is free if you are?

Yes, I want to be your dog; Iggy and the Stooges versus Contemporary Performance

I went to see Iggy and the Stooges last night. He was more alive than anyone I’ve seen on stage in a while. My thoughts are thus: When worried about putting nudity into a performance because that would mean losing your audience of under 14 year olds, or shocking your grandmother, or losing out on funding, the early days of punk should be an inspiration.

Trip The Light Is Back

At Trip The Light Fantastic Toe (performance night organised by Hopscotch) I’ve always enjoyed myself a hell of a lot. It’s a 6 pound entry, but if you dress up like a foxy cat (whiskers or tail – your call) it’s only a 5′er.

Three Is A Magic Number

Alice Tatge

If you’re in the mood for performance, tomorrow April 30th at the artist-run Waterside Project Space you can experience 3:00.
